Lugano : Experience

It is 3rd of Feb 2007. I traveled to Lugano today. Travel started at 6.45 on the morning. I traveled from Altstetten (the train station near the place i stayed) to Zurich HB. From Zurich HB i took a train to Lugano. I got a one day travel card and it cost me 58 CHF. I got into train at Gleis 5(German word for Platform) at 7.09 AM. Train is of full capacity and I managed to find a seat for me. I reached lugnao at 10.00 AM. From train station in Lugano to City Centre, I need to take a mini train. Travel in the train will cost 1.10 CHF. Since I had 1 day swiz travel card, I don’t need to pay for the train travel to the city centre. It is nearly a 3 minutes journey to the city Centre. On reaching the city centre, I went to the tourism information centre. I came to know from the Information centre that the access to the 'Miniature Village' and 'Train to the Mountain' in the Lugano are closed during the winter. Both these attractions open at 17 March. Other attractions in Lugano are 1. Lake (I am fortunate to be in Lungano in a warm day. Temperature was around 15 Degree Celsius) 2. Take the toy train around the city 3. Have coffee (Lugano is famous for its coffee shops since it is near Italy)

As the day slowly progressed I felt myself hungry. So I went to a Coop store (in Switzerland, Coop and Migros are the super markets) to get some fruits and juices. On getting the eatables from Coop, I went to a coffee shop and got a cafe latte (i.e. coffee with milk).
In the afternoon I took the toy train. Toy trains goes around the streets of Lugano and it is a 45 minutes journey and this cost 8 CHF (called Swiss Franc). After the first 15 minutes journey in the train, I fell asleep and I got up only at the end of the journey. It is funny that I have paid 8 CHF to have a nice sleep for 30 minutes around the streets of Lugano.
After the train journey, I went to play the chess in the streets of Lugano. The good news is I emerged as the winner at the end of the game :). After the game of chess, I went to park near the lake and in the park I met a group of Indians from Pune. Now the time is 6.00 PM and i am very tired and so went back to the train station. I took the 7.40 train to Zurich HB. Now I am traveling in the train as I write the blog in my notebook.
